My First Post

I am so excited to have begun another level in my paper crafting life. I read endless amounts of blog entries from others but now I'm going to try my hand at it. It feels quite therapeutic! I get most of my ideas from other crafters and then add to them but I have finally come up with a couple of ideas of my own. This past weekend a "Christmas in July" challenge was due and this is what I came up with. Let me know if you like it.

Christmas Tag Recipe

The tag on the left is my favorite because I love deep rich color. The stamped image is by inkadinkado. It is embossed in black ink. Then, I took Tim Holtz's fired brick(red) and peeled paint(green) and blended the colors. The more color you dab the deeper the tone. Then I took the large Stampin Up "speckled" stamp and stamped over the entire tag w/the old olive ink. Finally I inked the edges w/Tim Holtz's tye dye ink to give it a finished look. The original tag is just a manilla envelope cut into a tag with the Cricut. On the second tag I just used less color. I masked the embossed image and stamped an argyle pattern w/Tim Holtz's scattered straw(yellow).

About Me

My photo
I began my papercrafting journey when someone from work invited me to a Stampin UP party. I couldn't believe how easy it was to make something so beautiful. As I went to different workshops, people began to bring their different projects to the parties and one time a lady brought her scrapbook! OMG!!!! It was love at first sight. I didn't say a word. I just listened to what she said about it and how she did it and I began to just go into local craft stores and put the pieces together and the rest is history. Because this love of mine began before I married or had children, I was able to document a great deal of what has happened over the past ten years. I am so thankful for this love of paper crafting. It has gone from card making to scrapbooking, to book making to clay crafts to paper jewelry and combinations of the like!
